The aim of the project is to develop for the universities of applied sciences tools to follow-up the employment of their alumni. Project contains technical solutions for collecting, processing and analyzing data as well as reporting. The project promotes and enhances the recognition and use of employment data.
The project strengthens and develops the collection of career data from the universities of applied sciences and disseminates information to both staff and students and external stakeholders. Employment data consists of up-to-date information on the employment opportunities of alumni, the career opportunities provided by the degree and the working life correspondance of the studies. Higher education institutions can make use of the data in the development of education and the promotion of student employment at the national level. Higher education students and applicants get information for planning their future careers and support for their own employment.
This project application is a continuation of the AMK career! project funded by the Sustainable Growth and Work (2014-2020) programme. Project developed and piloted a career tracking implementation model and built a model for reporting and disseminating information.
Making sustainable career choices requires truthful and reliable data on training and career paths. Proactive and up- to-date information on post-graduate work life already during the studies gives students a better starting point to the job market after graduation.
To support career guidance, the project provides high-quality, open and up-to-date information on potential career paths. The annual data is accessible also for the study guidance at the upper secondary level, both upper secondary vocational VET’s and general upper secondary level and can be used for making prognosis of the regional and national education needs. Until now, the problem has been the poor coverage, lack of consistency and lack of comparability between the various organizations. This project creates permanent structures for collecting employment data.
